To ensure that unauthorized parties cannot access or alter application data transmitted over wireless networks, ExpressQ, ExpressSync and Smart IP offer optional encryption based on AES technology. Messages are encrypted when they are sent over the air on public networks. Encryption ensures that sensitive data cannot be intercepted or altered by unauthorized parties during transit.
ExpressQ’s encryption is seamless to the user and the application. Once enabled, no user or application intervention is required to encrypt and decrypt data.

ExpressQ offers optional LDAP-based user authentication, enforcing user IDs and passwords that are authenticated against a standard LDAP-based directory.
Authentication happens on two levels. First, the server used by the mobile
client is authenticated to the client, so that a third-party server cannot
pretend to be the client’s trusted server. Second, the client is authenticated
to the server through the use of LDAP, such as Microsoft’s Active Directory.
