latest release of its Everix Mobility Suite.
MobileAware's Everix 3.0 is now available for general release. The
Everix Mobility Suite is the first mobility product to enable existing
and new content to be liberated to new channels with a low cost of
ownership and a reduced time to market. Everix enables operators to
cost effectively deliver web content to mobile devices, kick starting
an exciting and expanding community of rich multi-media information
services for their subscribers.
Designed to provide customers with a single solution allowing content
creators to rapidly design and deliver rich multi-media services,
Everix is a Java-based platform, which seamlessly integrates with
other leading software products.
Everix 3.0 has a number of new key features such as:
Advanced Custom Pagination:
Everix now supports 3 levels of device content pagination
- Memory based pagination
- Heuristic pagination to achieve best device impression
- Custom controlled pagination overrides and guidelines
Sophisticated WML Navigation for End-Users:
To dramatically enhance the End-User experience while using mobile
devices, Everix now provides the fully automated generation of links
that take the user directly and intuitively back through the content
they have just visited. This feature is a vast improvement in usability
over the repeated use of the "back" button.
Improved Performance:
Through extensive fine-tuning, MobileAware has significantly improved
upon the already marketing leading performance of Everix.
Mobility Controls:
Everix 3.0 has added Mobility Controls, intelligent XHTML extensions
that deliver customized behaviour to devices based on their capabilities.
Examples includes a control which delivers phone numbers in a clickable
format to suitably enabled phones and an image control which delivers
the most appropriate of a selection of images to a device based on
its capabilities.
Along with key feature enhancements to Everix directly a number of
specific features enhancements have been added to Everix, to further
facilitate the rapid integration of Everix into portal environments
such as BEA's WebLogic Portal 7.0. They include:
URL Compression:
Generally URLs generated by Portal Environments are long, a feature
which is incompatible with the limited memory space of today's portable
devices. Everix's new URL compression feature allows these long URLs
to be dramatically shortened in a way that is completely transparent
to the mobilized application, and hence much more content to be delivered
to the device. Everix's URL Compression significantly reduces perceived
end-user latency, significantly reduces unnecessary network traffic
and also improves perceived device responsiveness.
More Flexible Deployment:
Everix 3.0 allows for more flexible deployment facilitating even easier
and tighter integration with other leading products such as Portal
Servers, Content Managements Systems etc.
