MobileAware Announces Partnership with BEA Systems in the Asia-Pacific Region

Dublin, Ireland, January 19, 2005 - - Responding to the growing demand for mobile data services in the Asia-Pacific region, MobileAware, a leading provider of mobile business solutions, today announced the opening of an office in Beijing. The office, which was officially opened by Ireland’s Prime Minister, Mr. Bertie Ahern, will serve as a foothold for MobileAware’s sales and operations in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific market, targeting mobile operators, content providers and cross-vertical enterprises in the region. Mr. Kirk Tang has been appointed Director, Asia-Pacific and will be responsible for managing MobileAware’s existing customer accounts as well as generating new business opportunities.

MobileAware recently announced a global partnership with BEA Systems, which the MobileAware office in China will support in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the terms of the agreement, BEA Systems will sell the MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition through BEA System’s direct and in-direct distribution channels worldwide. MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition is an integrated mobile platform that seamlessly extends enterprise applications, databases, portals and web services allowing them to be accessed by any mobile device.

MobileAware has been operating in Asia since 2003, mainly through indirect channels and presently has a number of customers in the region including China Mobile. Fueling market growth through partnerships will continue to be a focus for MobileAware as it aims to offer unprecedented levels of service to Asia-Pacific organizations.

Mr. Tang joins MobileAware with over 13 years of IT industry experience and a successful track record in sales and channel management in Asia, Europe and North America. Prior to joining MobileAware he served as Senior Manager, Global Alliances and Accounts at BEA Systems where he successfully grew customer and partner revenue in China. Mr. Tang has also held senior marketing and business development positions with Dell Computer, China Research Corporation, Versata Software and Ingram Micro Inc.
