“Smartphone-toting consumers want to do just about everything with their mobile devices today. From mobile shopping to mobile banking, today’s consumers are demanding experiences similar to the ones they have on the PC, and customer service is no exception….Though mobile customer service appears to be on the rise, a study by the mobile solution provider MobileAware Ltd. examines some shortcomings with mobile self-service. One of the biggest challenges is consumer awareness and adoption of mobile self-service technology. Smartphone owners are generally thought of as tech savvy, but the MobileAware report indicates they are slow to embrace self-service functions offered via the mobile channel.”
