Rotan has been with MobileAware since its foundation and is responsible for research and technical standards. He is a part of the W3C Advisory Committee, is a member of the Device Independence Working Group, and is an invited expert in the Java Community Process. He has hosted technology workshops around Europe and is a frequent spokesperson at corporate events. Prior to joining MobileAware, Rotan was a senior consultant for Telenor and earlier held the positions of Senior Academic at the Institute of Technology and Technical Administrator of the National Institute Network, now known as ITNet
